BACKGROUND
For the last 4 years we have held a conference in the UK, bringing together speakers from key areas of museum projects. Last year we held it in Liverpool, using the Museum of Liverpool as a case study and we had Sharon Granville, Project Director, as a keynote speaker.
We've done a lot of work in the Gulf region over the last few years, with projects in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah, and Doha. There is a considerable number of major projects on-going in the area currently; the Louvre and the Guggenheum in Abu Dhabi are just the tip of the iceberg.
This astounding growth combined with the fact that we've always found the people in the Middle East to have a real thirst for knowledge has prompted us to take our conference to the region; planning an event at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The conference will take place on 26th February 2013, and we hope to attract around 100 museum delegates from the surrounding region and further afield.
The event promises significant opportunites for knowledge enhancement, relationship building, and networking with a wide variety of international museums and museum professionals.
