MARK SUTTON VANEAfter taking a degree in Architecture Mark started manufacturing light fittings and designed lighting. He then ran the Laserium laser shows in the London Planetarium, he was commissioned by Kate Bush and Jean Michel Jarre to produce shows. Mark moved back into Architectural lighting design and in 1995 he started Sutton Vane Associates which works in all fields of lighting design, though it carries out many museum projects. The practice has designed lighting for: The National Museum of Ireland, The National Museum of Saudi Arabia, the Royal Saudi Air Force Museum and temporary exhibitions at The V&A and the Natural History Museum. Sutton Vane Associates lit the phenomenally successful First Emperor – China’s Terracotta Army at the British Museum. The practice has lit the interiors and exteriors of large numbers of historic buildings including many cathedrals and castles. Current projects include the National Museum of Oman, the Massar Discovery Centre in Syria, Hampton Court Palace, museums in Dubai and the extension to The Natural History Museum in London. |
